Locks of Love

Today I got to fulfill a life dream of mine!  Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love.  However, I haven't been able to grow my hair that long until now.  So I took advantage of the occasion and I finally got to donate my hair!

Here's some photos:

Me with my 10 inch ponytail!

I'm still getting used to it; sometimes I look in the mirror and say, "Where'd my hair go?"  But overall, I'm so glad I got this opportunity and that my hair can help, even in a small way, a child with cancer.

I'm an Elephant!

According to my nephew Miles, I am no longer Emmy or Emily or even his aunt, but an elephant.  Every time I asked Miles who I am it would go something like this:

E: Miles, who am I?
(silence)
E: Am I Emmy?
M: No (with a twinkle in his eye)
E: Am I Emily?
M: No
E: Am I your aunt?
M: No
E: Well, if I'm not Emmy, Emily, or your aunt, then who am I?
M: An elephant!

See the resemblance?

In other words, I got to babysit Miles on Tuesday as his parents went to the Savion Glover concert (aka, the best tap dancer in the world!).  Miles is the best nephew in the entire world and I love babysitting him.  We had fun as he played with an old pinball toy of my brothers, played with the large mirror in my hallway, read books, and gave hi-fives to my roommates.

So, I have the cutest nephew in the world and I love babysitting him!

Done to a Crisp

This post is done to a crisp.

An apple crisp!

For my ward's linger longer on Sunday I decided to make my favorite dessert, apple crisp. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to add ice cream to it (which is by far the best way of eating apple crisp), but it still turned out pretty well.  My lovely roommate Kenzie helped me peel and slice the apples and it ended up being a lot of fun (and quite delicious I may add)!

London Calling

I just got accepted into the London Study Abroad Program for Spring Semester (April 25-June 13 2012)!  I am so excited!  I've always dreamed of going to the British Isles and I feel so blessed that I get to study and travel there for 9 weeks.  I'll be learning about British literature, history, and politics as I live in London and travel around England and even to Scotland and Paris.  Here's some photos of places I'm excited to visit while I'm there:

This is the BYU London Centre where I'm going to live.

It's right by here: Kensington Palace Gardens

I'll have to make sure to

as I travel around London.

Besides amazing places in London, I also have the opportunity to visit other places, including:

Stonehenge

Stratford on Avon

Canterbury

Oxford

Bath

and even places outside of England such as:

Scotland!

and Paris!

I cannot wait until Spring Semester and the chance to study abroad in London!

He's got the smolder

Yep.  That's right.  He's got it.  What might you ask?  That's right the smolder.  In other words, my nephew Miles dressed up as Flynn Rider from Tangled for Halloween this year.  Miles and Elisabeth came and visited me and Miles' other aunt and uncle at BYU to show off his Halloween costume.  Not only was he completely adorable, he also had a pretty awesome smolder.

I mean, what girl wouldn't melt after seeing that face?

I think he even beats out the original Flynn Rider.
See what I mean?
